RCMP is asking for dash cam footage from any motorists who drove along 35th Avenue between 33rd Street and 35th Street on April 9 between 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.

On Thursday, April 9, 2026, at approximately 8:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a deceased person found inside the office at 3401 35th Ave. in Vernon.

The circumstances surrounding the death are being treated as suspicious, though no determination of criminality has been made.

“A determination of criminality has not been made at this time,” said Constable Chris Terleski, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP. “The circumstances surrounding the person’s death are considered suspicious in nature and we are reaching out to the public for information that may help advance our investigation.”

This update comes after initial reports last week noted the discovery and an ongoing police presence at the scene over the weekend, with the property cordoned off by yellow tape.

No details about the identity, age, or gender of the deceased have been released.
