Deceased Person Discovered Inside Vernon Business

Police continue to investigate after a deceased person was discovered inside a Vernon business late Thursday night.

Vernon April 11 2025 - Emergency responders were called to the 3400 block of 34th Avenue at approximately 9 p.m. on April 9. According to initial information, the body was found inside the Vernon Winter Carnival Society office building.

RCMP Investigation continued into the weekend

Since then, the property has remained sealed off with yellow police tape. Investigators were still on scene Saturday evening, collecting evidence and securing the area.

Several police vehicles, including two marked Royal Canadian Mounted Police cruisers, were present.

Authorities have not released any details about the identity or sex of the deceased, and it remains unclear whether foul play is suspected.

The Winter Carnival building, located near 35th Avenue, is bordered by BX Creek, the Priest Valley Arena and gym, as well as a small wooded area at the rear.

Police have not said when more information may be made public.
