The activity is underway in both directions between Three Valley Frontage Road and the Three Valley Avalanche Gate.

The work began at 8:30 a.m. PDT and is scheduled to continue until approximately 4:00 p.m. PDT on Thursday, October 22.

Drivers can expect holds of up to 20 minutes while crews place avalanche explosives as part of preparations for the coming winter season. Traffic control is in place, and motorists are advised to watch for personnel and reduced speeds through the area.

Three Valley Gap is one of the higher-hazard avalanche zones along the corridor between Sicamous and Revelstoke.
