Fire crews were on the ground today Monday, July 13, mopping up and securing the perimeter, with 12 firefighters assigned to the incident.
The blaze was first reported to members from the Lake Country fire hall just after 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 12.
That information was quickly passed on to the BC Wildfire Service.
Initial attack crews and aircraft responded immediately. Multiple helicopters and airtankers joined the effort.

The fast, coordinated response from air and ground stopped the fire from growing in the dry Okanagan conditions.
The fire was located roughly 25 km from Kelowna, 15 km from Lake Country, and 20 km from Vernon.
No evacuations or area restrictions were issued. The suspected cause remains under investigation.
The rapid response likely kept this small wildfire from threatening the surrounding region.

Be diligent and be careful. Conditions are very dry right now. If you see smoke or anything suspicious, report it immediately to the BC Wildfire Service.
