Sicamous Bridge Closed - Police Incident

Update:  Unconfirmed reports say the incident involves a collision between a police cruiser and another vehicle on the older R.W. Bruhn Bridge deck. It’s unknown at this time whether the collision was an accident or an intentional act to stop a vehicle. Investigators are on the bridge gathering evidence.

Highway 1 at the R.W. Bruhn Bridge in Sicamous is closed in both directions until further notice due to a police incident. 

August 28 2026 - A police incident has forced the closure of the R.W. Bruhn Bridge currently under construction in Sicamous BC.

No further public details on the nature of the police incident have been released yet. The closure is unplanned (separate from the ongoing R.W. Bruhn Bridge replacement project, which has scheduled overnight work but no daytime full closures this summer).
