UPDATE: Two Dead in Highway 97 Crash Near 108 Mile Ranch
100 Mile House RCMP confirm two people died in Monday evening’s crash on Highway 97 near Hickling Road.
Emergency crews responded around 5:15 p.m. to a two-vehicle collision. One vehicle was found on its roof in the northbound lane. The lone occupant was seriously injured and flown to Kamloops by air ambulance.
The two occupants of the second vehicle were trapped. A female passenger died at the scene, and the male driver succumbed to his injuries despite life-saving efforts.
The BC Coroners Service is investigating. RCMP continue to seek dash cam footage or witnesses.
July 28, 2025 – 108 Mile Ranch, B.C. – Emergency responders are on the scene of a serious motor vehicle incident (MVI) along Highway 97 near 108 Mile on Monday evening.

Unconfirmed reports from the scene indicate crews had to extricate an unknown number of occupants from a rolled-over vehicle.
BC Air Ambulance is on scene and prepared to transport an undisclosed number of injured individuals.
According to DriveBC, the crash occurred between Cariboo Drive and Spring Lake Road.
Highway 97 is currently closed in both directions, with no detour available.
