Possible Drowning at Kalamalka Lake, Patient Rushed to Hospital

July 1 2026 - Emergency services responded to reports of a possible drowning at Kalamalka Lake on Wednesday evening.

Unconfirmed reports indicate the incident occurred around 7:15 p.m. on Canada Day, July 1.

Reports are a BC Ambulance Service crew attended and quickly transported one person to hospital.

The exact location and circumstances of the incident remain unconfirmed, as does the current condition of the individual.

It is not known whether other agencies such as the fire department attended the scene.

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP have not yet released an official statement.
