Single-Vehicle Crash Closes Lanes on Highway 1 Near Three Valley Lake

June 30 2026 - A single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon forced alternating traffic on a 3.2-kilometre stretch of westbound Highway 1 between the Three Valley Lake and Woods bridges.

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. when the vehicle left the roadway along a section very close to the lake. The road appeared wet at the time of the crash.

Unconfirmed reports indicate two people were inside the vehicle and both suffered only minor injuries.

Good Samaritans who were already on scene stopped to assist while RCMP and BC Ambulance crews responded.

A complex vehicle recovery operation was underway by early evening, with single-lane alternating traffic in place.

The crash site is located roughly 16 to 19 km west of Revelstoke.
