March 20 2026 - A heavy police presence in a Vernon neighbourhood Thursday night was hard to miss as members of an Okanagan Emergency Response Team (ERT) carried out an undisclosed operation.
The response unfolded in the 4000 block of 31st Street, where officers, including heavily armed ERT members and their armoured vehicle, converged on a residence around 8 p.m.
Emergency lights illuminated the area as traffic was diverted away from the scene.
At some point during the operation, an unknown number of occupants were convinced to leave the residence.
Despite the significant show of force, the situation appears to have ended without incident.
There has been no official word on what prompted the response.
The incident began winding down around 9 PM Friday night
