Woman Dead After Disturbance at Mission Hill Condo Complex Vernon

Residents of a Vernon condo complex in Mission Hill say they’re shaken after a family dispute ended in tragedy Friday afternoon.

RCMP confirm a 75-year-old woman was found dead on the patio of a unit in the 2300-block of 34th Street following reports of a fight around 4:15 p.m.

Mounties say several 911 calls came in as the situation escalated. When frontline officers arrived, they arrested one person at the scene.

“A suspect was taken into custody and later released with several conditions, pending a future court date,” said Corporal Tania Finn, media relations officer with the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP.

Police believe the incident was isolated and say there’s no ongoing threat to the public. The Vernon RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit is leading the investigation.
