Wildfire Quickly Contained Near Coldstream

Coldstream July 2 2025: Early Wednesday afternoon, Coldstream Fire Department responded to reports of fire burning in trees several kilometres up King Edward Forest Service Road, off Highway 6.
Multiple trucks, including Coldstream’s wildland unit and a water tender, were dispatched to the scene.
Support was also called in from the Lavington Fire Hall, BC Wildfire Service, and RCMP, who closed the road to ensure safety during the operation.
BC Wildfire Service provided helicopter air support, delivering multiple water drops to help knock down the flames.
Thanks to the swift and coordinated response, Coldstream firefighters had the blaze contained in short order.
