Vernon RCMP Investigating Two Similar Assaults 24 Hours Apart

August 6 2026 - Vernon RCMP are investigating two similar attacks that happened exactly 24 hours apart.

At 1:50 a.m. Wednesday in the 2400 block of 34th Street, a 43-year-old man was bear sprayed and cut with an edged weapon. He was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries but refused to cooperate.
The suspect got away
At the same time Thursday in the 3400 block of 27th Avenue, a 40-year-old man suffered similar injuries and was also taken to hospital.
Police are checking whether the incidents are linked and are asking for any tips or video.
