Vernon Excavator Back on Tracks After Roadside Crash

Vernon, B.C. – September 30, 2025 — Traffic was briefly disrupted Monday afternoon after a truck and trailer hauling an excavator slid off East Vernon Road and tipped onto its side.

BX Swan Lake Fire Rescue was called to the scene shortly after noon near the intersection of East Vernon Road and Dixon Dam Road.

Responders found the truck and trailer down a small embankment with the excavator toppled onto its side.

RCMP and BC Ambulance also attended. No injuries were reported.

The truck and trailer were quickly removed.

The incident may have damaged the asphalt road surface.

Traffic along East Vernon Road was temporarily blocked while recovery work was completed.
