Special air quality statement remains in effect for Vernon
September 4 2025 - Environment Canada says wildfire smoke continues to affect the North Okanagan. A special air quality statement remains in place, with local smoke expected through today and into Friday.

Thursday’s forecast calls for sunshine with smoke and a high of 31°C, feeling like 34 with the humidex. Winds will pick up from the north this afternoon at 20 km/h, gusting to 40.
Overnight, skies will stay clear with smoke lingering, and a low of 15°C.
Friday is expected to bring similar conditions, with sunshine, local smoke, and a high of 32°C.
