Serious Crash in Vernon Under Investigation
November 13, 2024: Vernon North Okanagan RCMP Media Relations Officer, Constable Chris Terleski, has released details about a serious crash currently under investigation in the East Hill area of Vernon.
The collision, which occurred on the night of Sunday, November 10th, left two individuals in critical condition.
At approximately 11 p.m., RCMP officers along with BC Ambulance Service and Vernon Fire Rescue Service responded to a report of a multi-vehicle crash on the 2700-block of 15th St. that had trapped 2 people inside a Pontiac Grand Am.
The RCMP release says their investigation indicates that the Grand Am was traveling at high speed when it lost control, veered off the road, and collided with two parked vehicles and a hydro pole, causing significant damage.
Both occupants of the vehicle were transported to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
An RCMP Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service member attended the scene to assist with the ongoing investigation. Police believe speed may have contributed to the crash.
