Shed Fire Spreads to Home in Pleasant Valley; No Injuries Reported
April 30 2026 - Fire crews battled a shed fire that spread to a nearby house early Thursday morning in the BX area.

The blaze was reported around 8:30 a.m. in the 6900 Block of Pleasant Valley Road, with multiple callers alerting authorities.
The shed was located very close to the residence, allowing flames to quickly extend to the house.
BX Swan Lake Fire Rescue made protecting the home their top priority.
Mutual aid was requested from Vernon Fire Rescue Services and the Armstrong Spallumcheen Fire Department.

Crews were assisted on scene by RCMP, BC Ambulance, BC Hydro, and Fortis. All occupants were believed to be accounted for, with no injuries reported.
Firefighters wrapped up operations around noon.
Pleasant Valley Road was closed in both directions during the response, with traffic diverted through the nearby Christian school parking lot by school staff.
