Tuesday, March 4th, 2025: Vernon Fire Rescue responded to multiple reports of a van fire early Tuesday morning.
Calls started coming in shortly after 7 a.m. as a thick column of black smoke became visible over the city.
When VFRS crews arrived they found a minivan fully engulfed in flames in the parking lot behind the Village Market at Highway 97 and 19th Avenue.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze.
There have been no reports of injuries, and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
