Arrest Made in Online Threats Investigation Targeting Armstrong High School Students

Armstrong, British Columbia March 17, 2026 - Vernon North Okanagan RCMP have made an arrest in connection with concerning online behaviour directed at students at Pleasant Valley Secondary School (PVSS) in Armstrong.

The investigation began on March 9, 2026, after police received reports of suspicious online activity and threat-related behaviour targeting students at the school. Initial reports from local media, including community concerns about a circulated so called "death list" naming 16 PVSS students, prompted swift action.

Police, School District 83, and partner agencies conducted a structured risk assessment to evaluate and address any potential threats.

One individual was arrested in relation to the incident and has been released under strict conditions as the investigation continues.

“Situations involving a potential threat to the safety of our schools are treated with the highest priority,” said Constable Chris Terleski, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP.

“Police, School District 83, and partner agencies have been working together through a structured risk assessment process. As we continue our investigation, it’s important the community knows school and students are safe, and we are working closely in partnership with School District 83 to ensure their continued safety."

School District 83 has emphasized that the school remains safe, with ongoing monitoring and collaboration with authorities. The district has also reminded the community to report information directly rather than reposting potentially harmful content.

This follows initial community reports and media coverage earlier in March that highlighted parental anxiety and the circulation of alleged threats online.
