Vernon Fire Rescue Assists in Hiking Trail Rescue on Turtle Mountain
May 5 2026 - Vernon Fire Rescue Service crews helped a BC Emergency Health Services team safely transport an injured person down a steep section of Turtle Mountain on Tuesday afternoon.
The rescue occurred mid-afternoon on May 5 near trails above the Venture Recycle Depot at Alexis Park Drive and 43rd Avenue.
Firefighters carried the individual several hundred metres down the challenging terrain to a waiting ambulance.
No details have been released about the cause of the incident or the nature of the injuries.
