Tanker and Box Truck collide on Highway 97 in Lake Country

August 27 2026 - LAKE COUNTRY, B.C. A tanker and a box truck were involved in a serious collision on Highway 97 Thursday morning closing a southbound lane and slowing traffic through Lake Country.


The crash occurred in the southbound lanes near Pelmewash Parkway, before the Oyama entrance, shortly before 9:30 a.m. Crews were still working the scene at that time, with the slow southbound lane closed.

Two commercial trucks were involved. The cab of the box truck was heavily damaged.


The rear of a silver tanker also appeared damaged.


Traffic cones marked the work area and absorbent had been spread on the highway.

No official details were available on what led to the collision or whether anyone was injured.
