Suspicious Package Prompts Closure at Lumby Fire Hall

September 16 2025 - The Lumby Fire Hall is currently cordoned off with RCMP tape as police await the arrival of the RCMP Bomb Disposal Team from the Vancouver area.

A military-style box was left at the hall’s front door, and with no information on its contents, officials are taking precautions.

Because Lumby fire trucks and equipment remain inside the hall, BX Swan Lake Fire Department is assisting Lumby and District Fire Department in providing coverage for Lumby and District in the meantime.

Lumby Fire Crews will continue to respond to calls.

Authorities remind the public not to leave unknown items at fire halls or other public facilities, as such actions can cause serious disruptions.
