The popular children’s theatre show Alice in Wunderland also continues its run at Powerhouse Theatre (tickets still available through the weekend and into early May).

Saturday, April 25: Music lovers have two big options.

The U2 - An Epic Night with U4 tribute band takes the Performing Arts Centre stage at 7:30 p.m., promising a high-energy evening of Bono and the boys’ biggest hits.

Later that night, the Karin Plato Quartet brings rich vocal jazz to the Vernon Jazz Club at 7:30 p.m., a rare Okanagan appearance for the acclaimed vocalist that has been highlighted across local arts listings.

Sunday, April 26:

Head out to Planet Bee Honey Farm for the Spring Bee Festival (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.). The free event features honey tastings, family activities and a chance to learn about local beekeeping, one of several “Sweet Pairings Days” happenings this spring.

Looking a little further ahead, mark your calendars for Saturday, May 2 and the return of the Vernon Comic Con. The massive pop-culture convention, always held on Free Comic Book Day, is shaping up to be one of the biggest yet, with cosplay, vendors, and geeky fun for all ages.

These events are all listed on the official City of Vernon Community Events Calendar and Tourism Vernon’s “Things to Do” page, making it easy for residents and visitors to plan.

Many are low-cost or free, reflecting the region’s strong community-driven arts and culture scene.
