Smoke in Vernon City Hall prompts response from Vernon Fire Rescue Service

February 27 2026 - Vernon Fire Rescue Service responded to reports of smoke in Vernon City Hall shortly after 10:30 a.m. Friday.

Emergency crews were called to the downtown building after smoke was detected inside. As a precaution, the building was partially evacuated while firefighters investigated.

Officials determined the cause of the alert was an electrical issue. No injuries were reported.
