Vernon, B.C. – A serious crash early Friday morning sent one person to the hospital with unknown injuries.
RCMP, along with two fire trucks from the Vernon Fire Rescue Service and two BC ambulances—accompanied by a supervisor vehicle—responded to the scene. Emergency crews found a small blue car overturned near the Highway 97 northbound on-ramp at 58th Avenue.
Firefighters had to extricate the lone occupant from the vehicle before the individual was quickly loaded into a waiting ambulance.
The extent of their injuries remains unclear, and it is unknown if any other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Authorities have not yet determined how the vehicle ended up on its roof.
Due to the location of the crash, emergency responders set up their staging area in the RONA parking lot, which provided the best access to the scene.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
