November 21 2025 - Shortly before noon on Monday, November 24, 2025, Lavington and Coldstream fire halls received a report that a small plane had gone down in rural Coldstream.

It’s easy to see how someone watching might have thought the plane was in trouble.

The call pointed to an a spot surrounded by large open fields near Highway 6 and the King George FSR an area commonly used for farming and orchards.

A dashcam captured the alleged aircraft of interest as it made one of its low practice passes over a Lavington field.

Fortunately, this incident ended on a positive note. The pilot of the small private Cessna was simply performing routine practice maneuvers, and no crash had occurred.

Lavington Fire Hall, BC Ambulance, and the RCMP all responded to ensure there was no emergency.

All’s well that ends well.
