RCMP Seek Public Help to Identify Suspect in Downtown Vernon Robbery

Vernon, B.C. May 13, 2026 - Vernon North Okanagan RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest wanted for questioning in connection with a robbery that occurred in downtown Vernon earlier this month.

On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at approximately 11:45 a.m., police responded to a report of a robbery.
According to investigators, the suspect approached the victim, claiming the victim had struck him with a vehicle. When the victim refused to pay compensation, the suspect allegedly assaulted him and forced him to withdraw money from a nearby ATM.
“We haven’t been able to identify the suspect yet and are asking for the public’s help,” said Constable Chris Terleski, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP. “We’re circulating the photos hoping someone will recognize the person and contact us so we can advance our investigation.” RCMP have released images of the suspect and are urging anyone who recognizes him to come forward.
