This Giving Tuesday, December 3, NexusBC Community Resource Centre is encouraging the community to contribute to their efforts in supporting local seniors.
According to NexusBC, many seniors in Vernon face challenges such as limited incomes, high medication costs, and difficulty affording fresh food, hearing aids, or dentures.
To address these issues, NexusBC offers a range of services including transportation to medical appointments, assistance with benefit applications, and a social club aimed at reducing isolation.
Donations received this Giving Tuesday will go toward initiatives such as grocery gift cards, access to affordable produce, and support for essential medical aids like dentures and hearing aids.
“Donations allow us to provide meaningful assistance to seniors in need,” says Lee Brinkman of NexusBC. “Every contribution helps improve the quality of life for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.”
