Update July 29 2026 3:45 pm - Unconfirmed reports indicate additional aircraft have joined the attack on the new wildfire (K21320) west of Logan Lake late Wednesday.
Several more skimmers and at least one water bomber are now working the fire, all believed to have been dispatched out of Kamloops.
Update July 29 3:30 PM - Unconfirmed reports from the scene indicate at least two aircraft are attacking the new wildfire (K21320) west of Logan Lake on Wednesday afternoon.
Sources say a bird-dog (spotter plane coordinating the air attack) and a skimmer are on the fire.
The skimmer is reportedly loading at nearby Mamit Lake.
DriveBC traffic data shows delays in the area, with congestion visible along Meadow Creek Road (Highway 97D) near the 97C junction.

July 29 2026 KAMLOOPS, B.C. - A new wildfire has ignited west of Logan Lake in the Kamloops Fire Centre, the BC Wildfire Service reported Wednesday.
Fire number K21320 was discovered on July 29, 2026, near Witches Brook.
The blaze remains out of control and currently covers just 0.009 hectares. Its cause is under investigation.
No evacuation alerts, orders, or area restrictions are in place at this time.
