Evacuation alerts issued as Guichon Creek wildfire grows to 88 hectares

July 29 2026 LOGAN LAKE, B.C. - Evacuation alerts are in effect after the Guichon Creek wildfire (K21320) west of Logan Lake expanded to 88 hectares and remains out of control.

Discovered on July 29, the fire is burning with Rank 3 and 4 behaviour, an organized flame front, moderate rate of spread and short-range spotting.

Twenty-four firefighting personnel, helicopters and the Logan Lake Fire Department are on scene.

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has issued an alert for about seven properties along Tunkwa Lake Road in Electoral Area “J,” while the District of Logan Lake has alerted acreages around Ard Righ Road.
