The Roddy Main wildfire (K41555) southeast of Cherryville remains at 0.009 hectares and is classified as Being Held by the BC Wildfire Service. Discovered on August 12, 2026, and believed to be lightning-caused, the small blaze was quickly brought under projected control through ground crews and helicopter water drops, with no further growth expected based on current conditions.

August 12 2026 -10:30 AM , A new wildfire has been detected east of Vernon in the Kamloops Fire Centre and is currently listed as out of control, according to the B.C. Wildfire Service.
Fire Number K41555 was discovered on August 12, 2026. As of the latest update at 9:33 a.m. PDT the same day, the blaze covers just 0.009 hectares.
The small fire remains under active monitoring by the Kamloops Fire Centre. No further details on the cause or immediate response resources have been released in the initial report.
