Major Retail Development Progressing at Vernon’s Highway 6 and 15th Street Intersection
Vernon, BC
December 9, 2025 - A new commercial plaza is under construction at the northwest corner of Highway 6 and 15th Street in south Vernon, with plans to open in fall 2026.
The project at 1501 Highway 6 spans approximately 3.42 hectares and will offer around 67,522 square feet of retail space across multiple buildings.

The site features a signalized intersection for easy access and is located near growing residential areas, the Vernon School District office, and Interior Health’s Vernon Health Centre.
The new plaza development includes a variety of convenience-oriented tenants and amenities, some confirmed, some not.
A large anchor grocery store A pharmacy
Two drive-thru establishments (one for fast food occupied by McDonald's and one for coffee)
A nine-bay vehicle service facility occupied by Kal Tire
A gas bar with convenience store operated by Canco
A daycare facility
Plus multiple smaller retail units, some of which remain available for lease.
The plaza’s focus on serving the expanding south Vernon and Coldstream communities is supported by high daily traffic volumes and strong local demographics.
The developer has remained tight-lipped about the grocery store, described only as a “national grocer”, as well as the other potential tenants, while negotiations are presumably underway.
Additional tenant details are expected to be released as leases are finalized and construction continues through the winter.
The new plaza is projected to open in fall 2026.
