July 30 2025 - Work is progressing on the Tank Hill Overpass, a key project on the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1), located 14 km east of Lytton along the Thompson River.
As part of the B.C. Highway Flood Recovery Projects in the Fraser–Thompson Corridor, the initiative replaces a grade separation structure damaged during the November 2021 river flooding.
The Tank Hill Project involves building a new overpass spanning the Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) railway, along with highway upgrades to support the structure. It also includes a creek crossing with channel improvements and enhanced drainage under the highway.
The goal is to restore connectivity after floodwaters damaged a 100-meter stretch of Highway 1 and rail infrastructure.
The B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure expects completion by November 2025.
