Mountain Highways Getting Messy

November 25 2025 - Drivers on the Okanagan Connector and Coquihalla Highway should be prepared for winter conditions, especially at higher elevations.

Aspen Grove, Okanagan Connector

Okanagan Connector (Merritt–Kelowna)Periods of snow are expected to end late tonight, with 2–4 cm possible. Mainly cloudy skies are forecast overnight with a 40% chance of flurries, and gusty winds continue to make travel tricky. Wednesday will be mainly cloudy with early flurries possible.


Coquihalla Highway (Hope–Merritt)Snow is falling down to the valley bottom tonight, with up to 5 cm accumulation and winds around 15 km/h. Light snow is expected to taper off near noon Wednesday before turning cloudy. Late Wednesday evening, snow is likely to return, with another 2–4 cm possible overnight.

Coquihalla Highway (Merritt–Kamloops)Drivers can expect a cloudy evening with a 60% chance of flurries and gusty winds. Wednesday brings a mix of sun and cloud with light winds, while flurries may return overnight.

The heaviest snow is currently reported around Helmer and the Okanagan Connector, so extra caution is advised. All travelers should check road conditions before heading out.
