Lumby Structure Fire in Wooded Property

April 16, 2025: The Lumby & District Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire early Wednesday morning.

The fire was burning at the rear of a property in the 200 block of Albers Road. The wooded section of the property where the structure was located had poor access, making the response more challenging.

The call came in shortly after 7 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16. BX Fire was called in to assist. BC Ambulance, BC Hydro, and Fortis were also on scene.

Neighbours believe the structure that was burning was a yurt, and report that a small private event may have taken place at the site the evening before. These details have not been confirmed.
