Late-Night Fire Destroys Rural Home in Lake Country

LAKE COUNTRY September 27 2025 - Fire crews were called to a structure fire on Sunday evening in the 18400 block of Hereford Road, where witnesses reported at least part of a home fully engulfed in flames.
The property, located several hundred metres off the road in a rural, treed area, was believed to be undergoing renovations following a recent sale, though that remains unconfirmed.
Lake Country firefighters used water tenders to battle the blaze, with support from Ellison Fire Department and Vernon Fire Rescue.
RCMP and BC Ambulance also responded. There were about a dozen emergency vehicles on scene.
No word yet on injuries or the cause of the fire.
