2024-10-28: Road Construction Updates Ahead of Halloween Fireworks
Kalamalka Lake Road, Vernon, BC – Motorists traveling along Kalamalka Lake Road may encounter minor delays this week as crews conduct asphalt surface repairs.
Starting Wednesday, October 30, the road will be reduced to two lanes between 14th Avenue and Highway 6, with temporary closures on Pottery Road as needed.
The construction is expected to take about a week, weather permitting, and local traffic will still have access to businesses and residences in the area. The City encourages drivers to obey traffic control signage and reduce speed for the safety of workers and the public.
As the community prepares for Halloween festivities, including a fireworks show at Kal Beach Pier on October 31 at 8 PM, the City of Vernon appreciates the public’s patience during this necessary road work.
The roadwork is a couple of kilometers up Kalamalka from the Coldstream Halloween Fireworks show, but it may still affect traffic.
Enjoy the spooktacular celebration!
