Hold and Secure Lifted at Coldstream High School After Police Investigation

The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP Locked Down Kalamalka Secondary School in Coldstream after a possible weapons complaint on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., in response to the report, the school initiated a hold and secure protocol as a precautionary measure.

RCMP officers were dispatched to support the safety measures and conduct an investigation. After a thorough assessment, it was determined that the safety protocol was no longer necessary.


Following consultation with the police, the school administration lifted the hold and secure. Regular activities have resumed at the school.



Constable Chris Terleski, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, stated, "The safety of our students and our schools is our top priority. In response to any potential threats, all necessary steps to ensure their safety will be taken. We want to thank School District 22 staff, students, and families for their patience and cooperation."
