Highway 97 Closed After Serious Crash

Morning collision near Grandview Flats Road leaves multiple people injured, air ambulance dispatched

September 17 2025 - A serious crash shut down Highway 97 near Grandview Flats Road Wednesday morning.

Witnesses reported at least two vehicles were involved, with at least one leaving the highway ending up on its roof.

This stretch of BC-97 has seen its share of incidents

Crews from the OKIB Fire Hall were first on scene. Vernon Fire Rescue also responded.

Unconfirmed reports indicated three people required extraction from two vehicles.

The number of victims and the extent of their injuries have not been confirmed.

At least four BC Ambulance units and a BC Air Ambulance were on scene, along with RCMP.

The collision occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Highway 97 between Grandview Flats and St. Annes Roads.

The Highway was closed for several hours.
