December 25 2025 - After roughly two weeks of closure, Highway 3 between Hope and Princeton has reopened to traffic, though drivers are being warned conditions remain far from normal.

The mountain highway was shut down after atmospheric river storms caused extensive flooding, washing out or damaging more than two dozen sections of roadway between Hope and Manning Park.
In several areas, fast-moving water undermined the highway, forcing a full closure while crews assessed damage and began emergency repairs.
While the route is now open, motorists should expect major delays. Between Sunshine Valley and Manning Park Resort, traffic is reduced to single-lane alternating flow, with traffic control in place near kilometre 42.
Speed limits have been dropped to 30 kilometres an hour, and congestion is common through the 46-kilometre stretch.
The Ministry of Transportation says repairs are ongoing and conditions may change with little notice.
Commercial vehicles are being encouraged to use alternate routes while work continues.
