Highly Visible Slash Burn Prompts Emergency Response

Tuesday December 17, 2024: A fire visible from Highway 6 prompted calls to 911 operators.

At about 3:30 PM the Lavington Fire Department was dispatched to what was initially reported as a vehicle fire on Buchanan Road near Warren Road.

When fire crews arrived, they quickly determined the blaze was a permitted slash pile fire.
