Grass Fire Today in Vernon

March 1 2026 - Firefighters with the BX Swan Lake Fire Rescue Department responded to a fast-moving grass fire Sunday afternoon on a rural property in the 5500 block of Dixon Dam Road in Vernon.
Crews arrived to find flames spreading quickly across dry grass on the acreage. Firefighters worked to keep the blaze from reaching a small barn on the property and were able to stop its advance.
The grass fire was knocked down in a little more than an hour. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
