February 22 2026 - Around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, BC Ambulance Service requested Kamloops Search and Rescue (KSAR) to assist extricating a person from a vehicle that left the road and went over a bank.

Fourteen KSAR members, including specialists from the group's rope rescue team, geared up for a technical high-angle rescue that often involves, litters, and careful stabilization of a potentially unstable vehicle.
When KSAR arrived at the scene they found the situation already resolved.
Civilians had successfully evacuated the driver, who reportedly had an upper leg injury.
In a social media update posted Sunday morning, Kamloops Search and Rescue expressed gratitude for the outcome and praised the civilians' decisive actions.
"We’re grateful for a positive outcome and for the quick actions of those who assisted," the group stated.
The cause of the crash has not been released.
