Fire Tears Through Roof of Vernon Home

Updated: Nov 17

October 3 2025 - Calls to 911 reporting a house fire began just after 10:30 p.m. Friday night, with flames visible from the residence.

The home is located in the 3800 block of Hawksbill Place, at the base of Turtle Mountain in Vernon.

When fire crews arrived, they found the multi-story home fully involved.

Crews from all three Vernon fire halls responded and were able to knock down the fire before it spread to neighboring buildings.

However, the flames did tear through the roof of the two-story home.

BC Ambulance and the RCMP were also on the scene, along with BC Hydro and Fortis.

There is no word yet on whether the house was occupied at the time of the fire, if there were any injuries, or what caused the blaze.
