ERT in Lumby

Lumby, BC – Police responded to an incident in Lumby late afternoon March 3, 2026, involving the Southeast District Emergency Response Team (ERT).
Several residents tell ExNews.net a loud bang was heard in the area earlier in the afternoon. It's unknown if that was related to the incident.

Shortly afterward, police started appearing, around the same time RCMP vehicles were seen travelling east on Highway 6 toward Lumby,

The RCMP deployed the ERT and established a command post at the Lumby RCMP detachment.
The response appeared to be focused on a single residence in the north end of town.
An Tactical Armoured Vehicle vehicle was positioned nearby as ERT members maintained a perimeter.

Unconfirmed reports say one person was taken into custody during the operation.
