Emergency alert system in BC to be tested on November 15 at 1:55 p.m. PST
The test will cover TV, radio, and compatible phones.
The test aims to raise public awareness, validate system reliability, and include an audible test of the Predator Ridge emergency siren for testing purposes only.
No action is required from the public. The siren, installed by the Predator Ridge Community Emergency Management Committee, is meant to enhance wildfire evacuation notifications.
The Alert Ready emergency alert system is tested biannually, and Vernon uses the Alertable app for local emergency broadcasts. Visit www.getprepared.gc.ca for more on emergency preparedness.
