Travellers Road Report – Dec 4, 2025
December 4 2025 - Drivers can expect flurries, fog, and changing snow levels across the Coquihalla and Okanagan Connector today, with periods of heavier snow returning Friday.

Several construction zones and closures continue on Highway 1 between Salmon Arm and Sicamous, along with planned avalanche control in Rogers Pass later today. Additional slowdowns are in place near the Illecillewaet Brake Check, and planned work on Highway 3 may cause intermittent delays. Travelers should allow extra time and be prepared for rapidly changing mountain-pass conditions.
Coquihalla Highway (Hwy 5)
Merritt to Kamloops / Hope to Merritt
Flurries this morning with fog patches lifting. Around 5 cm of new snow possible. Winds up to 15 km/h.
Tonight brings a few lingering flurries, then cloudy skies. Friday will be cloudy with light snow (near 2 cm) in the Merritt–Kamloops section.
The Hope–Merritt summit is expecting snow changing to rain mixed with snow midday, with up to 10 cm before the transition.
Road Conditions: Between Hope and Portia, drivers are encountering blowing snow, slushy sections, and slippery patches.

Flurries throughout the day with fog patches lifting by late morning. 2 cm expected today and again tonight. Friday brings more persistent snowfall with 5–10 cm possible and gusty winds.

Tappen to Salmon Arm (Tappen Beach Rd – 65 Ave NW):Construction ongoing until Dec 19 (7 AM–5 PM, Mon–Sat).Expect minor delays.
Sicamous Area (Old Sicamous Rd – Solsqua-Sicamous Rd):Daytime closures from 9 AM–3 PM (Mon–Sat).
