Crash reported on Highway 97A north of Grindrod both directions blocked

September 29 2026 - A collision involving a semi-truck was reported Tuesday morning on Highway 97A about five kilometres north of Grindrod, according to mapping and traffic data.
The incident was flagged around 11:15 a.m. on Sept. 29, 2026, on the Vernon-Sicamous Highway.
Live traffic maps showed the highway blocked in both directions near a curve beside the river, with a crash marker displayed and congestion building on the approach.
Emergency crews are on scene.
Officials had not yet released details on how many vehicles were involved, the cause, or the condition of anyone at the scene. There are unconfirmed reports on of the vehicles involved was semi.
Motorists were being advised to avoid the area and expect delays. No official confirmation from RCMP or DriveBC was available at time of posting.
The stretch of Highway 97A between Enderby/Grindrod and Sicamous is a two-lane rural highway that frequently sees closures after collisions.
