Fog blankets Okanagan Connector as unconfirmed crash report circulates

Early morning fog persisted into early afternoon reducing visibility

September 25 2026 - Thick fog settled over Highway 97C west of Kelowna on Friday, cutting visibility along the climb toward Pennask Summit.

The haze covered both directions between Brenda Mine Road and the summit, a stretch already known for sudden weather changes at high elevation.

Drivers reported patchy, low visibility and slushy snow on the road.

A crash marker also appeared on Google Maps near the same corridor.

RCMP have not confirmed a rollover crash, possibly involving a pickup was being reported in the area. The highway appears to be open with traffic still moving.
