Coquihalla Road Report – Monday, October 27, 2025

Drivers heading over the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt can expect winter driving conditions today. Flurries are falling at the summit this morning, where temperatures are sitting around –2°C with a road surface near –1°C.

About one centimetre of new snow has accumulated since early morning, with gusty northwest winds up to 22 km/h adding to reduced visibility at times.


According to Environment Canada, up to 5 cm of snow is expected through the day before the snow level rises to around 1,000 metres near noon.


Conditions are forecast to improve tonight as skies clear, but drivers should still watch for icy sections at higher elevations.


On Tuesday, expect increasing cloud and a 60% chance of wet flurries in the late morning before turning to rain by afternoon as snow levels climb toward 2,500 metres.


Motorists are reminded to use winter tires and drive with caution through the summit area.
