Coquihalla Connector Warning

Special weather statement has been issued for the Okanagan Connector between Merritt and Kelowna, warning of windy conditions and the possibility of snow through Monday.


March 8 2026 - According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, mainly cloudy skies are expected Sunday with a 60 percent chance of flurries in the morning and early afternoon. The snow level is forecast to drop from about 1,200 metres to near the valley bottom during the morning hours.

Strong southwest winds are also expected, reaching 60 km/h with gusts up to 80 km/h, before easing slightly later in the morning.


Flurries may return Sunday night with another 60 per cent chance of snow and continued windy conditions.


Looking ahead to Monday, forecasters say drivers can expect a mix of sun and cloud with a continued chance of flurries and windy conditions in the morning.
